what is barre fitness?
Barre Fitness™ is a one hour full body workout that fuses the best elements of ballet, pilates, sports conditioning and stretching for a truly unique and fun experience. The moves are low impact but high intensity intervals of strength training followed immediately by deep recovery stretching. This regimented routine will evenly sculpt and quickly transform the entire body, resulting in a toned, trim physique.
what do you do in a barre fitness class?
Every Barre Fitness™ class is fun and empowering and set to today’s hottest music. Classes begin with a warm up focusing on postural strength and alignment, followed by a series of upper body exercises using light weights. The ballet barre is used to sculpt the lower body, abs and for flexibility training. Then it is down to the mat with a fitball for core work and a relaxing and invigorating final stretch.
what to wear?
Please wear comfortable, breathable workout wear. We suggest tight fitting clothing so that the instructor can easily see form and alignment. The workout is done in socks, please feel free to bring your own or purchase a pair in studio.
what to bring?
At Barre Fitness™ everything you need for a great workout is provided! From mats and equipment, to towel service at no extra charge. All that we ask is that you please bring your own re-fillable water bottle and take advantage of our filtered water bottle filling station.
who can participate?
Barre Fitness™ has been designed for anyone ages 15-69 and will benefit clients of every fitness level! The roots of the program were developed to rehabilitate the body. Many of the stretches and strengthening exercises have been suggested by sports medicine physicians and orthopedists.
First Time Clients: Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first class, to provide ample time to fill out a client waiver, take a tour and meet your instructor.
Injured Clients: It is recommended that clients with injuries consult with their doctors before beginning any new exercise method. Also, please speak with your Barre Fitness instructor about your injury before class begins.
Pregnant Clients: If you exercise regularly, have no serious medical problems and you have an uncomplicated pregnancy, it may be safe to exercise. ALL pregnant clients must have their physician complete a PARmed-X form to be presented to Barre Fitness before they may take class. For more information on our prenatal program Click Here.

barre etiquette
We all share the love of the Barre! And with that sharing comes the responsibility of caring for those around us too. Please note the following studio policies:
-
Please arrive no later than 5 minutes before class
Latecomers without proper notice risk losing their spot to the next available client on the waitlist. Also note, clients will not be allowed into the class beyond the first 5 minutes after class has started. No-shows will be charged as if attended (see our Cancellation Policy above).
If you are running late or know you are unable to attend class, please contact the studio at 604-669-6906 or info@barrefitness.com to let us know!
-
The studio is a fragrant-free zone
Please refrain from wearing perfume or heavily scented body products as some clients are highly allergic, which cause them to experience nausea and migraines.
-
Dog Policy
Dogs are more than welcome in the studio and we are happy to house your furry friends during your workout. However, please note that some clients are allergic and if they are also in the studio, you may be asked to leave your dog outside, unless specific arrangements have been made with the front desk.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at anytime. We appreciate your help in making the Barre experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone!
